Alicia "Darlene" Bailey

Darlene Bailey, age 61, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born November 23, 1962, in Jackson, Tennessee to the late William R. Bailey, Sr. and Velma Garner Bailey.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her brother, William R. Bailey, Jr. and three sisters, Brenda Bailey Newton, Barbara Jo Bailey Taylor and Alice Bailey.

She attended Madison County Schools and later earned her General Educational Diploma. She placed her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. She enjoyed worshiping at Nashway Baptist Church for the years she was able to attend. Darlene truly loved life with a free spirit. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, playing her fiddle and banjo, writing songs and tending flowerbeds with her mother. Darlene learned to sew quite well with her mom's caring instruction. She sewed several items for her family members over the years. She loved animals and had many pets throughout her life. She had a huge rabbit and always cats. She loved and took great care of all her animals.

Darlene is survived by her three brothers, Richard Bailey of Jackson, Tony Bailey of Jackson and Sam Bailey of Jackson; three sisters, Suzanne Bailey of Jackson, Dianne Bailey Childers of Tyler, Texas and Lisa Bailey David and husband Mark of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Bailey Family Cemetery with Brent Lay officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Darlene loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will be greatly missed.
