Bertha Benard

Mrs. Bertha Victoria Thomas Benard age 74 of Humboldt, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022 at her residence.

She was born September, 5, 1947 in Jackson to the late Jesse F. Thomas and Clero Edith Austin Thomas.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Benard was preceded in death by a son, Todd Benard and a brother, Jesse Thomas.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Joe Benard of Humboldt; son, Joey Benard of Humboldt; two daughters, Debra Benard and Cassie Henley and husband Jonathan all of Humboldt; sister, Donna Johnson of Beech Bluff. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Jacob Thomas, Amy Byrum (Frank Jr.), Nicholus Henley, Scotty Middleton and Kassie Henley as well as four great grandchildren, Ava Byrum, Topanga Middleton, Casey Middleton, and Ezra (Henley) Davis.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Benard will be conducted Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Big Springs Methodist Church Cemetery. The Benard family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
