Mrs. Betty Collins, age 59, died June 4, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was born in Alamo, TN to the late Freeman Byrd and Una Faye Massey Byrd. Mrs. Collins was a longtime nursing assistant and member of First General Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Brenda Kay Coffman; step-son, John Thomas; step-brother, Jimmy Byrd.

She is survived by her husband, John Albert Collins, Jr.; birth mother to three, Melissa Collins, Letitia Collins, Tyrice Collins;grandchildren, Jasmine Collins, Carlia Reid, Harvesha Hamilton, Harvell Hamilton, Harvon Hamilton, Tashiona Wortman, Taijanae Reed, Tyrice D. Collins, Jr., Davion Harris, Tysaun Collins, Cornell Collins, Steve Collins; great-grandchild, Da'Myah Thomas; step-children, Andrew Burnette, Terry Collins, Betty Mae, Billy, Tina Ann, Danny, Randy, Loretta and a grandmother to their children; sisters, Audrey Sides, Martha Coleman, Mary Goodrich (Ed), Wilba Miller, Barbara Moore; brothers, Earl W. Byrd (Lynn), Rodger Byrd (Mary).
