Bobby Gale Wagner

July 2, 1938 — September 1, 2024

Jackson

Bobby Gale Wagner was born on July 2, 1938, and entered heaven on September 1, 2024.

A wonderful husband, devoted father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, "Big Daddy" will be remembered for his laughter, storytelling and cigar chewing by all who knew him. He was proud of his Mississippi 9th grade education and always jokingly claimed Georgia Tech as his alma mater.

Big Daddy was a veteran, Mason, master of his profession and life long member or Pipeliners Local Union 798. Welding took him all over the world working on natural gas and oil infrastructure. His time spent working on the Trans Alaska pipeline was the most memorable to his children. He loved classic cars and collecting German steel pocket knives. Bobby was very active in the Masonic lodge and loved expanding that fraternity. He was a wonderful provider, always generous and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Cathy Matocha Wagner; daughter, Tanya Lambert (Denny); sons, Bobby G. Wagner, II (Racheal) and Tag Wagner; grandchildren, Taylor Chitwood, Caden Catoe, Dashiell Wagner, Trafford Wagner, Ridgely Wagner, Levi Wagner, Braxton Wagner, Jon Wagner, Mason Wagner, Lily Sutton, Nicholas Sutton, Trent Sutton and Briana Cutting; great grandchildren, Collin Causey, Miller Sutton, Tatum Sutton; and sister, Sylvia Lipford.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Ray and June Wagner; brother, Willard Ray Wagner, Jr.; and grandson, Clayton Gale Lambert.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Jackson, Tennessee with Masonic Rites.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Juno Masonic Lodge # 443 or a charity of your choice.
