Ben was born April 8, 1934 in Jackson, TN and departed this life February 21, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, TN. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Shires; and parents, William M. & Ruth Archer Shires.
He is survived by his son, Kelley Shires; daughter, Susan Shires; grandson, John Michael Shires; great-granddaughter, Allie Beth Shires; sisters, Cora Shires, Harriet Presson, & Martha Alwine; brothers, David Shires & John Shires; and several cousins, nieces, & nephews.
