David Lee Powell

David Lee Powell (Dave), 81, of Zanesville, OH died peacefully on March 17, 2016 surrounded by his family. Dave was the beloved father and grandfather of Lisa Hodne (Kerry), Daniel, Jake, Josh, Jessica; David R. Powell (Heather), Kara (Bradley), Mary Beth, Madelyn; Mary Beth Pritchard (Cy), Chip, Jeanie; Melanie Clark (Josh), John, Amy, Erin; Michael Powell (Patricia), Ashton; beloved stepfather to Dawn Frentzel-Schaaf (Jeff), and Matt Frentzel (Toni), Logan; and beloved great-grandfather to Andrew, Katie and Casey. He is also survived by the mothers of his children; Jean Powell of San Diego CA, Gay Powell of St Petersburg FL; his brother Robert Powell, and sisters Beth Gehring (John), and Margie Schneider (Jim). He was preceded in death by his brother Jerald S. Powell and his parents Olive Mae (Warne) and Robert S. Powell.  Dave served in the Army National Guard from 1957-1965.  He then went on to have a successful sales management career in the baking pan industry, working for Schaumburg Inc., St. Louis, MO and 30+ years of service with EKCO-GLACO, Jackson, TN where he retired as a Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 1994.   His infectious sense of humor will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will have a service later this year at his favorite place in Asheville, NC to honor his life.
