Donnie Gene Burgess

Mr. Donnie Gene Burgess age 71 of Trenton, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023, at NHC Milan.

He was born May 30, 1952, in Humboldt to the late Russell Burgess and Perline Wall Riggs. He was a retired truck driver and a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Burgess was Baptist by faith in baptism. While Donnie was not wealthy, he was rich in many other ways because he was a friend to everyone he met. If anyone was ever in need, Donnie was always there to help even when he couldn't spare the time or money. He would give all he had to help others while doing without himself.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Skelton.

Survivors include four sons, Johnny Lopp (Jessica) of Jackson, Donnie Burgess of Trenton, Jason Burgess of Lexington and Jeremy Burgess of Michigan; one daughter, Tabitha Burgess of Missouri; brother, Billy Riggs of Mississippi; three sisters, his twin sister, Kathy Kalvick of Trenton, Betty Caldwell of Gibson and Janice Smith of Henderson; step-sister, Rita Faye. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, Aden, Taylor, Faith, Dillion, McKenlee, Brentia, Bailey, Carter, Emmitt and Tomlin.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Mt.Zion Community Church Cemetery.
