Gibson, TN- Funeral services for Doris Bobbitt Langford, age 89, will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday, June 28, 2015 in the chapel of Gibson Funeral Home with Bro. Max Walker officiating. Burial will follow in White Rose Cemetery.
Ms. Langford died Friday, June 26, 2015 at her home.
She was born August 28, 1925 in Milan, TN to Luster Bobbitt and Mamye Hammons Bobbitt. She graduated Gibson High School Class of 1943 and worked for 23 years at Brown Shoe in Humboldt. She was a member of the Gibson Alumni Association and the Fabulous Females. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years at Gibson First Baptist and Chapel Hill Baptist Church. She was known as a loving mother and Godley Lady that never missed attending church.
Ms. Langford was preceded in death by her Husband: William Arthur “Billy” Langford, children: Robert Luster, Linda Louise Lankford Scarbrough, Susan Marie Langford Tosh and her husband David, sister: Modine Bobbitt.
She is survived by her children: Ann Blankinship, husband Jim, Sarah Chumney, husband Stan, brother: J.L. Bobbitt, grandchildren: Beth Scarbrough Hailey, William “Bill” Scarbrough, Dr. Lisa Ann Blankinship, Robert Chumney, Heather Chumney, great grandchildren: Lauren Hailey, Emily Hailey.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 - 2 p.m. Sunday at Gibson Funeral Home.
