Mrs. Evelyn Cottrell Mathis age 89, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 Christian Care of McKenzie.

She was born May 4, 1929 in Decatur County to the late Roy Cottrell and Malinda Baker Cottrell. Mrs. Mathis worked at the Milan Arsenal then later retired from Corey Foam.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ford Mathis; son, James William Maness; daughters, Patsy Terry, Peggy Truell and Tina Williams.
Survivors include two daughters, Marion Thompson and husband Richard Lee of Three Way and Malinda M. Griffin and husband Wesley of Atwood; son, Floyd O. Maness and wife Denna of Milan. Other survivors include twenty-five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mathis will be conducted Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Medina Funeral Home with Bro. Seth Wilkerson officiating. Committal services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Iron Hill Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Parsons with burial to follow. The Mathis family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
