Funeral services for Mrs. Faye Nippers Hale, age 99, will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Piercy, Rev. Steven Fonville, Rev. Bill Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Medina.
Mrs. Hale died Monday, September 29, 2014 at NHC in Milan, TN.
She was born in Crockett County and moved to Humboldt in 1925. She has lived in the Humboldt-Gibson area all her life. Mrs. Hale, a homemaker and dietician at St. Mary’s Hospital, went to glory on her 99th birthday September 29.
She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and continued attending until a recent fall.
Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her parents Elijah and Lucy Birmingham Nippers; her husband, Philip Hale; four sisters, Ruby Ruehl, Louise Emerson, Lavern Scott and Freddie Wool.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Jack) Sisk of Coldwater, MS, Shirley (Jerry) Harwell of Lakeland, TN; two sons, Don (Kathy) Hale and Bill (Sandra) Rice, all of Humboldt.
Mrs. Hale is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and a special niece, Martha Ann Shaver.
Friends may visit with the Hale family Wednesday, October 1, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Medina Funeral Home.
