Ed Mayfield
George Edward Mayfield age 89 was born January 14, 1925. He departed February 2, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Gertrude Mayfield, and a daughter Kay Mayfield Stewart.
Ed served in the U.S. Army during WWII being cited with several military medals. He was retired from the Milan Army Ammunitions Plant where he worked as one of four captains.
Ed leaves his son; Bob Mayfield (Peggy) of Dyersburg, grandchildren; Rhonda West, Ruthanne Szenasi, Robert Stewart, Mathew Stewart, Tish Roney, Nikki Rogers, 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors are 3 pm Saturday February 8, 2014 at the Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Espy and Bro. Bill Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-3 pm Saturday at the church.
