Funeral services for Ms. Georgia Rhea Boyd, age 82, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at Darden Pentecostal Church with Bro. Ronnie Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Ms. Boyd died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Decatur County General Hospital.
She was born in Decatur County to the late Omer Phillips and Bertha Free Phillips. Ms. Boyd retired as a manager from a local café.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Audrey Phillips Horner.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Frank Boyd and wife Tammy of Huntsville, AL and David Beard of Parsons, TN; sisters, Exie Scott, Nellie Scott, Ruby Parrish, Doris Tharp, Carrie Austin; granddaughter, Candace Boyd; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the Boyd family will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
