Helen Murphy

Helen Yvonne Fuller Murphy, age 80 of Parsons, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of the late Raymond E. Fuller and Cora Mae Faulkner Fuller.

Helen worked as a Customer Service Manager at Wal-Mart in Milan for many years. She was a member of the Parsons Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Grady L. Murphy, and her brother, Joe E. Fuller.

Helen leaves her sons, Jeff and Steve Murphy; daughter-in-law, Stephane, who Helen was quick to correct as her daughter; granddaughter, Hannah Long and her husband Jon; grandsons, Brandon Petty and his wife Nikki and Justin Petty and his wife Erin; and great-grandchildren, Maley and Justin Long, Bella and Charlotte Claire Petty,  Maddox and Maverick Petty and Annyston Green.

She also leaves behind her special love, Ronald “Spoon” Pulley; great friend and Stephane’s mother, Joan Widener and very special grand dogs,  Harley and Broady.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Oakdale-Decatur County Funeral Home in Parsons with Dr. Frank McMeen officiating.
The Murphy family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

The committal service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Autism Tennessee or any humane society of your choice in memory of Mrs. Murphy.
