Mr. Horace Davis Harper, age 78 of Trenton, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at his residence.

He was born May 26, 1940 in Gibson County to the late Lonnie Albert Harper, Sr. and Bertha Irene Matheny Harper. Mr. Harper worked for the City of Trenton Water Department, Bob Barton Plumbing and retired from the Trenton Housing Authority after twenty-three years. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Mr. Harper was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was a member of White Hall Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Albert Harper, James Edward Harper, Ernest Harper, Sr. and Lonnie Albert Harper, III; sister, Mary Frances Harper and a son-in-law, Randy Cole.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Elaine Harper; son, Tim Harper and wife Amy; daughter, Lisa Cole; mother-in-law, June Cathey; three grandchildren, Shelby Frazier and husband Andrew, Brittney Cole and Jacob Cole as well as two great grandchildren, Mykel Frazier and Addison Frazier.

Funeral services for Mr. Harper will be conducted Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of White Hall Baptist Church with Bro. Jody Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the White Hall Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
