James Ray Evans, Sr.

James Ray Evans Sr., age 79, passed away peacefully at his daughter's residence on January 2, 2022.
Ray was born on March 9, 1942 in Tiptonville, Tennessee to the late Carl Robert Evans, Sr. and Clara Lorene Evans. He was a farmer in Lake County, Tennessee for forty five years until he retired.
Ray is survived by his three children; daughters, Brenda Darlene Parrot, of Waverly, Tennessee, Keleta Evans Turnage of Troy, Tennessee, and son, James Ray Evans, Jr. (Wendy) of Latham, Tennessee; one brother, Carl Robert Evans Jr. (June); three sisters, Betty Stout of Dresden, Tennessee, Wanda Stafford(Tommy) from Samburg, Tennessee, and Vicky Clemons from Missouri.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Natalie D. Nolte (Jason) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Ashley Nicole Camaso (Tim) from Newbern, Tennessee, Deanna Renae Curtis (Adam) from Waverly, Tennessee, Michael S Hall, II (Bethany) from Richlands, North Carolina, Madison Leigh Winchester from Kenton, Tennessee, Megan Elizabeth Winchester from Union City, Tennessee, and Autumn Marie Faith Jackson from Ridgely, Tennessee; thirteen great grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Jim Humfress, Buddy Humfress, Tom Evans, Paul D. Evans; and sisters Marie Roberson and Linda Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ray will be remembered for his contagious smile and endearing soul.
