James Phillip McCoy, age 74, of Humboldt, TN is in the care of Medina Funeral Home. The family will hold a Memorial Service on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the First Assembly of God Church in Humboldt, TN.
Mr. McCoy was born December 2, 1942 in Gibson County, TN and departed this life on January 13, 2017 in his home, surrounded by loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Opal McCoy.
He retired from the Navy after 26 years and also served 10 years as a police officer of Humboldt, TN. He was devoted to serving and protecting other people. One of his many hobbies included fishing. His family says that he absolutely loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife, Carol McCoy; son, Jeff (Kerry) McCoy; and granddaughter, Chloe McCoy.
