James "Jimmy" Brown Witherspoon, III of Humboldt, TN is in the care of Medina Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be at the funeral home on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 12 noon to 3pm.  A funeral service will be conducted at 3pm and a private graveside service will follow at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to either Avondale Baptist Church or charity of choice.

Jimmy was born July 2, 1960 in Humboldt, TN and departed this life August 8, 2016 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; James Brown Witherspoon II and Marie Mullins Reasons, stepfather; Jimmy Reasons, and stepdaugher; Lizabeth Blankenship.

Jimmy was a member of Avondale Baptist Church, Humboldt.  His passion was breeding, raising, and racing horses.  Jimmy was owner and auctioneer for Witherspoon Auction Company.

Jimmy is survived by his fiancee and life partner; Linda Petty, Humboldt, TN, granddaughters; Erica and Katy Evanson, Humboldt, TN, grandsons; Luke, Jacob, and Nicholas Blankenship, Lavinia, TN, Will and Seth Brown and J.D. Hughes, Humboldt, TN, stepson; Chad Brown, Humboldt, TN, son-in-law; Brad Blankenship, Lavinia, TN, and lifelong friends; David and Beverly Prince, Gibson, TN.
