Gum Flat TN, Jamie Lee Jaynes, age 74, died on Veterans Day Friday, November 11th, 2016 in Gum Flat, TN. He was born on April 15, 1942 to Malcolm and Geneva Jaynes. Jamie was a veteran having served his country with active duty in the National Guard.
He was a master carpenter who specialized in circular stairwells and his work will live on in some of the finest homes in West Tennessee. He loved his family, fast cars and Nascar. He pulled for Carl Edwards every weekend.
Jamie was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Geneva Jaynes.
Jamie is survived by his son Patrick whom he worked beside daily, and his loving daughter Ballary and her husband Beau. He also was the proud Grandfather of eight grandchildren Brittany Tucker, Brigham Jaynes, Layton Jaynes, Dalton Jaynes, Trae Arnold, Lou Arnold, Ty Arnold, and Bella Arnold. He is survived by his sister, Linda Gahagan and brother David Jaynes (Pam & Dominick). He also leaves behind a close nephew Kevin Gahagan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday evening November 13, 2016 at Medina Funeral Home from 5-8. There will also be a visitation on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 10 am at Midway Baptist Church in Gum Flat, TN with the funeral service to follow at 11am. Interment will be at Cypress Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Bells, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Midway Baptist Church.
