Funeral services for Mr. Jeff Parrish, age 55, will be held at 3 pm Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Medina First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mary Beth Bernheisel, Rev. Richard Clark and Rev. Randy Cooper officiating.
Mr. Parrish died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Milan General Hospital.
He was born in Huntsville, AL and moved to Medina at an early age. Mr. Parrish was a long time employee of the Milan Arsenal and most recently R&R Trucking, Inc. He was a graduate of Medina High School, class of 1977 and from Lambuth University. Jeff was a very active member of Medina First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and worked with the United Methodist Men. He was also active in the West TN Emmaus Community. Jeff found joy in glorifying God through singing. He will be remembered for his kind heart and gentle spirit. Jeff strived to put Christ first in everything he did.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Ferrell Parrish and Helen Kipp, grandparents, William Parrish and Gladys Parrish Sapp; Walter and Alene Pirtle; very special uncle and aunt, Glenn and Laverne Parrish; brother-in-law, Scott Littrell.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Boals Parrish; children, Nancy Utley (Jeffery), William Parrish (Marleigh), Briana Parrish, Keri Ann Parrish; sisters-in-law, Cathy Parrett (Bubba), Phyllis Hutchinson (Dan), Donna Robbins (Chris), Rebecca Elliott ( Tim), Anita Hanley (Paul); mother-in-law, Sue Littrell (JP); grandchildren, Quinn June Parrish, Liam Michael Parrish, Caleb Jeffery Utley; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the Parrish family will be held from 4 until 8 pm Saturday, August 2, 2014 at First United Methodist Church and from 1 until service time Sunday at the church.
The family request memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or to Reelfoot Rural Ministries in lieu of flowers.
