Mr. Jerry R. Thompson, Sr., age 80, departed this life on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
He was born on January 19, 1940 in Trenton, Tennessee to the late Faucet Thompson and Pauline Humphreys.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Glynda Thompson and brother, Jim Thompson.
He is survived by his son, Russ Thompson (Anita); daughter, Jeany Byth Maxwell (Darrell); sister, Jane Thompson (Wade); five grandchildren, Brad Pauley, Milly Balthrop (Brian), McCarty Maxwell, Maggy Maxwell and Alissa Butler; and four great grandchildren, Evie Jane Balthrop, Oakley Pauley, Hunter Pauley and Remington Pauley.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M., Friday, February 28, 2020 at Poplar Heights Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until the service hour at the church.
