John Bell

Mr. John Russell Bell of Beech Bluff, age 60, passed away on March 16, 2020 at his residence after a battle with cancer. He was a born again Christian and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

He was born in Inglewood, California on December 14, 1959 to Earl Bell and Mary Hastings Bell. Mr. John was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He was a baseball umpire for years and was always willing to help a friend. He retired from the Jackson Fire Department as a captain.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by his brother, Earl Bell (Diane); sister, Janet Sipes; cousin, Ronnie Kelso who he loved like a brother; three children, Leilani Mills (Scott), Penny Benson (Gary) and Greysenne Lentz; three grandchildren, Zarlei Pittman, Shaelynn Benson and Raylan Benson; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Rene Hampton.

A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m..
