Mr. Johnny Carter, age 81, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 peacefully at his home in Medina, Tennessee.

He was born on August 8, 1940 in Madison County to the late Jewell McCaskill and Deroy Carter. Mr. Johnny served in the United States Navy and retired after many years with Illinois Central Railroad.

He is preceded in death by his father, Deloy McCaskill; wife, Patricia Garrison Carter; and daughter, Laurie Garrison Day.

Mr. Johnny is survived by four children, John Wesley Garrison (Marsha) of Bolivar, Tennessee, Duane Carter (Karen) of Medina, Tennessee; Angie Crane of Medina, Tennessee, and Lisa Simons (Johnny) of Medina, Tennessee; son-in-law, Cleve Day of Bean Station, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Lesa Garrison of Medina, Tennessee; brother, Tommy Carter (Gale) of Medina, Tennessee; three sisters, Pat Campbell of Medina, Tennessee, Judy Fuller (Dan) of Jackson, Tennessee, and Gail Carter Bennett of Ashland, Mississippi.

Mr. Johnny also leaves thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren to cherish his memory.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 19, 2021 in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home with George McMinn officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour.
