Jospeh Vargason, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born on September 21, 1959 in Jackson to the late Henry Merle Vargason and Minnie Susan Vargason.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Gabe McKenzie.

He is survived by two sons, Joey Douglas and his wife Sheran of Panama City Beach, Florida and Harley Douglas of Panama City Beach, Florida; two daughters, Jennifer Vargason of Lexington and Jerrica Vargason of Jackson; three brothers, Michael Vargason of Jackson, Steve Vargason of Bethel Springs and Ben Vargason of Jackson.
Other survivors include four sisters, Linda Gower of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Alice McKenzie of Jackson, Janey McNatt of Jackson and Tammy Warrington of Humboldt; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
