Joseph “Joe” Leslie Hemby, Jr., age 74, of Bradford, TN is in the care of Medina Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held 1-3pm Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Bradford Apostolic Church. The family stated that Joe did not want anyone wearing black or dark clothing at the service. Please wear something bright and colorful.
Joe was born August 22, 1942 in Waverly, TN and departed this life peacefully on June 24, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Leslie Hemby, Sr. & Lucille Hemby; and brother, William Thomas Hemby.
He was married to his loving wife, Kim, for 23 years. Joe was a man of many trades, including being a police officer, a tow truck driver, and a janitorial manager. He also had many hobbies. His family said he loved to fish, hunt, and cook.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Hemby; daughter, Tamara (Mark) Haggard; son, Craig (Kris) Hemby; daughter, Laura (Robert) Mercer; son, Layne (Lea) Hemby; 5 grandchildren; 2 grandchildren on the way; 2 step-granddaughters; several step-great-grandchildren; several adopted children; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.
