Kathi Stafford

Kathi Butler Stafford, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on May 29, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 18, 1955, in Dyersburg, TN, and spent her childhood there before moving to Jackson, TN, where she raised her daughter. She later settled in Obion, TN, where she lived the rest of her life.

Kathi was a woman with an infectious spirit and a heart full of love. She was always on the go, living life to the fullest and never missing an opportunity to make memories with those she loved. Kathi had a joy for life that was contagious and made everyone around her feel special. Her generous and selfless nature was evident in everything she did. She would give you the shirt off her back and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Kathi never met a stranger, and her warm and friendly demeanor made her beloved by everyone who knew her.

Kathi's passing has left a void in the hearts of many. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Omer and Laverne Butler, her beautiful daughter Tiffany Allison Spence, and two precious nieces, Tara Newsom and Dana Malhorta. She is survived by her daughter Taylor Sweat (Brad Sweat), three grandchildren who were the light of her life, Zayne, Brody, and Jagger Sweat, a sister Nancy Wyatt Johnson, a longtime best friend David Spence, and many sweet cousins who she loved dearly.

Kathi's high-spirited and loving personality will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy will live on through the countless lives she touched. The celebration of life in her honor will take place Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Obion Community Center, where her family and friends will gather to share stories, memories, and celebrate the remarkable life of Kathi B. Stafford.
