Kenton (Kent) Carroll Smith was born April 15, 1948, in Fairfield, Iowa and left this earth to enter his heavenly home October 18, 2021. After numerous battles with cancer, Kent passed away at his home in Humboldt, TN. surrounded by family.
Left to share his story is his loving wife of 41 years, Darlene Smith; two children, Julie (Keith) Browning of Ft Myers, FL, and Derek Smith of Houston, TX. Six grandchildren; James. Kaitlyn, Jaeden, and Kyle Browning; Colin and Caden Smith. Three sisters, Jeannine (Tom) McCleary, Jerrilynn (Kent) Guttebo, Kim (John) House. Two sisters-in-law, Arlene Brown, and Lori Smith, as well as many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll Smith, and Joanne King, brother Tom Smith, brothers-in-law, Jerry Hensley, and Bert Brown.
Kent was a graduate of the University of Iowa. He retired as a captain in the U.S. Air Force after serving his country for twenty years.
Kent’s passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of family and friends, who were always entertained by his stories, jokes and sense of humor. He loved kids and spending quality time with his own children, grandchildren and his “adopted” grandchildren.
Kent was truly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home with Bro. James Rogers officiating with burial to follow at Centerville Cemetery. . The Smith Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 11:30 A.M. until the service hour.
