Kevin “Rusty” Russell McFarland
Kevin “Rusty” Russell McFarland, 44, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 24, 2013. Rusty was a devoted husband and best friend to his wife, Heather Sanders McFarland, and a loving, very involved father to his four precious children, Nikki (11), Kase (10), Liz (8), and Kooper (4). He was a successful businessman owning Rod’s Tire and Auto Center as well as Madison Family Practice, Medina Family Practice, and Lexington Family Practice. He loved boating, riding his Polaris Ranger, and spending time with his family at Natchez Trace State Park. Rusty volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and supported the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Jimmy V Foundation.
Rusty is also survived by his father; Kenneth McFarland (Raeleada), mother; Kathy Garrett Hale (Don), mother and father-in-law; Van and Sue Sanders, paternal grandmother; Louise Rose, maternal grandmother; Norma Jean Needham (Charles), sister; Lori Horner (Keith), sisters-in-law; Stephanie Boone (Todd) and Christie Wright, nephews; Jackson, Jordan, Jake, and John Boone, nieces; Haley Horner, Taylor and Lane Wright.
Rusty was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather; Garrett McFarland and maternal grandfather; Charles Garrett.
Funeral services will be held, with Rev. Wade Cox officiating, at the First United Methodist Church in Medina Monday, May 27 th at 10 am. Burial will follow at Union Grove Methodist Church in Kenton. Visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church from 4 – 7 pm Sunday, May 26 th and an hour prior to the funeral on Monday.
