Laura Frances Holder

Laura was born in Gideon, MO to Lee and Edith Whitledge – the oldest of 4 children. She graduated from Gideon High School in 1960, where she served as captain of the cheerleading squad as well as captain of the volleyball team. She and her family moved to Humboldt, TN in 1972, where Laura was active in the community – serving as President of the Jaycettes and an active Humboldt High School band parent. Laura was a beloved employee of Cedar Crest/Humboldt General Hospital for more than 25 years. She retired from there, where she made many friends whom she called family.

Laura is survived by her 2 daughters, Dr. Judy Lyles of White Bluff, TN, and Sharon Lyles of Dyersburg, TN, as well as 1 sister, Vicki Culver of Pollard, AR. She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as hundreds of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Holder, her parents, her sister, Sharon, and her brothers, Sonny and Larry Whitledge. 

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour on Tuesday in the chapel.

Burial of ashes will be held privately at a later date.
