LaVern “Aunt Vern” King

LaVern “Aunt Vern” King, age 72, is in the care of Medina Funeral Home where a visitation will be held 2-6pm Sunday, August 26, 2018 and 11-1pm before the service.  The funeral service will take place 1pm Monday, August 27, 2018 with a burial following at Davidson Cemetery. Pastor Ronnie Coleman and Pastor Austin Coleman will officiate.

Aunt Vern was born September 28, 1945 in Medina, TN and departed this life August 23, 2018 in Nashville, TN at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer King.

Aunt Vern was a member of the Soul Quest Church, CWA Union, and also Telephone Pioneers of America.  She retired from South Central Bell/AT&T.  Along with her 6 nieces and nephews and 13 greats, she was known as Aunt Vern to all.

She is survived by her mother, Lorene King; brother, Danny (Jeanie) King; sisters, Pat (Jerry) Brady & Darnell Waggoner; nieces, Tammy (Jason) Vickers & Kim (Chad) Crews; nephews, Tom (Christie) Waggoner, Jeremy (Lindsay) Brady, & Adam (Arial) King; and 13 great nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Aunt Vern’s great nieces.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dream Center and The Soul Quest Building Fund, P.O. Box 10902, Jackson, TN. 38308.
