Lawrence "Larry" Edward Jackson, Jr.
Medina, Tennessee
Lawrence E. 'Larry' Jackson, Jr. (affectionately known as 'Junie') age 74, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, May 9, 2021 after a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure.
He was born on March 18, 1947 in Grayson, Kentucky to the late Lawrence Edward Jackson, Sr. and Mildred Gipson Jackson, also deceased.
Larry was formally from Ashland, Kentucky. He had a love for his country and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was also a history buff. Larry graduated from Fairview High School class of 1965. He was a career lab analyst at Aristech Chemical in Haverhill, Ohio. Larry was an avid golfer, beginning as a caddie at the age of twelve. He loved being involved in coaching children through The First Tee while living in LaGrange, Georgia and instilling a love of the game in his grandchildren. Being a Papaw was his greatest joy. Following retirement, he took pride in devoting his time to his girls and grandchildren, as well as his grand dogs, Gucci and Joe. Larry never met a stranger; to know him, was to love him. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by the love of his life of 51 years, Sandy McKenzie Jackson of Medina, Tennessee; two daughters, Nikki Crossnoe (Roger) of Humboldt, Tennessee and Tara Kersey (Charlie Crosby) of Savannah, Georgia; two brothers, Keith Jackson (Scott) of Plymouth, Indiana and Kevin Jackson (Niona) of Raceland, Kentucky; two sisters, Mary Lou Childers (Mike) of Winchester, Kentucky and Carla Thomas (Allen) of Ashland, Kentucky; sister-in-law Lisa Sargent (Mike) of Worthington, Kentucky; and six grandchildren, Nathan Crossnoe, Quenton Kersey (Kyleigh), Brodie Kersey, Rachel Crossnoe, Robert Kersey, Jr. and Dalton Kersey; as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Honoring Larry's wishes, cremation took place in Medina.
