Lois Smith, age 85, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at her home in Jackson.

She was born on December 12, 1937 in Olney, Illinois to the late Ralph Harnishfeger and Emily Harnishfeger. Lois was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved to be outdoors gardening.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Robert J. Smith; brother-in-law, Larry Brown; and great nephew, Dustin Brown.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Knuckles and her husband Matt of Jackson, Tennessee; sister, Linda Brown of Olney, Illinois; three grandchildren, Emily Knuckles of Jackson, Tennessee, Erin Long and her husband Colby of Jackson, Tennessee and Jared Knuckles and his wife Brittany of Gainesville, Georgia; and five great grandchildren, Phiona Long, Hamilton Long, Iverson Long, Augustine Long and Arling Long.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee with Bro. Baine officiating.
