Madgeline F. Johnson passed away peacefully at NHC Nursing in Milan at the age of 88 after an illness of several months. She was  the daughter of Joe Cephas Fesmire and Lizzie Davis Fesmire and was raised near Lexington in Henderson County.  Mrs. Johnson was a longtime employee of Oakley Fashions in Jackson. She made her home in Medina during the last seven years.

She is survived by her son, Charles D. Johnson “Cheryll” of Medina, stepdaughter, Carla Tiller of New York, grandchildren, Katherine Michelle Stephens “Jeff”, Jennifer Elizabeth Bridger “Chris”, Lauren Maude Hollomon “Ben”, one sister, Ruth Moore of Lexington, and four great grandchildren.

Madgeline is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Bertha Roberts, and brother, Willie J. Fesmire, a stepdaughter, Kay Tedford, a stepson, Joseph Griffin Johnson, Jr., as well as her husband, Joseph G. Johnson, Sr.

Services will be held at Medina Funeral Home with Bill Sills officiating on Thursday, February 16th, with visitation from 12:00 until 2:00 and funeral service starting at 2:00 with internment at Highland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chris Bridger, Jeff Stephens, Ben Hollomon, Charles Fesmire, Jeff Thompson, and Cliff Carter.

The family would like to thank NHC Nursing and Caris Hospice for the fabulous care they gave Ms. Madge as well as the years of caring treatment given by Dr. Kelly Ballard.
