Marilyn Cole of Gadsden, TN is in the care of Medina Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16th at First United Methodist Church, Gadsden, TN from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm.

Marilyn was born January 15, 1960 in Bells, TN and departed this life October 13, 2016 at Humbolt General Hospital, Humboldt, TN. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Wayne Cole; brothers, Bobby & Tony Cole, and brother in law, Lawrence Buckingham.

Marilyn was a member of First Baptist Church, Gadsden.  She was a true Alabama (Roll Tide) fan and known to drive miles to the nearest Sonic to get a Diet Dr Pepper with EXTRA, EXTRA ice.  Marilyn loved watching the Gilmore Girls and would have in-depth discussions with her daughter, Tabitha, on the latest episode.  She also collected anything pertaining to “I Love Lucy” and was a yard sale bargain hunter. Marilyn loved her family and grandkids…they were her whole world!

Marilyn is survived by her mother, Mary Alice Cole, Gadsden; daughter, Tabitha Cole, Greenville, NC; son, Joshua (Tanya Matlock) Griggs, Gadsden; grandchildren, Paxton Cole, Greenville, NC and Baylee & Brylee Griggs, Gadsden; sisters, Sheila (Terry) Dozier, Trenton, Sylvia (Ed) Zelenka, Trenton, Sandra Buckingham, Humboldt; brothers, Ray (Kay) Cole, Gadsden, Scott (Marla) Cole, Gadsden, Shane (Sandra) Cole, Gadsden; sister in law, Elaine Cole, Gadsden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations go to: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th floor, NY NY 10004 or Gadsden Elementary School, 18989 Hwy 79, Gadsden TN 38337.
