Mark Damon Jeter
A popular Jackson-area Country music singer and song writer, Mark Damon Jeter, died at home after a prolonged illness Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, 5 Oct at the Medina Funeral Home, 302 W. Church Ave, Medina, TN. No funeral service is planned.
Born April 18, 1961 in Jackson, he is the son of Conard Jeter, of Jackson, TN and Dorothy Hough, of Henry, TN, both living.
Mark was married for 18-years to Scarlett (Thompson) Jeter of Trenton, wife and final care-giver. He leaves no children but was a loved step-grandfather to Bryar and Nathan, sons of stepson Shawn and Natalie Davenport of Milan.
He leaves one sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Tim Gunn of Henry and one brother, Jason Jeter of Jackson and three step-brothers, T.C. and Todd Hough who live out of state and Keith Jernigan of Selmer.
Mark was a well known entertainer who greatly enjoyed sharing his music around the greater Jackson area and often provided comforting music for the funerals and celebrations of his many friends and acquaintances.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Mark’s favorite charities, The Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center or the West Tennessee Cerebral Palsy Center would be appreciated.
