Mary Alice Cole

Mary Cole, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at her home.

She was born on October 7, 1932 in Crockett County to the late JC Ellington and Tressie M. Holt.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Wayne Cole; three sons, Bobby Cole, Tony Cole and Ray Cole; two daughters, Marilyn Morales Cole and Sandra Buckingham; brother, James “Bud” Ellington; and three sisters, Nellie Crutchfield, Carolyn Cheatham and Becky Cole.

She is survived by her two sons, Shane Cole and his wife Sandra of Gadsden and Scott Cole and his wife Marla of Gadsden; two daughters, Sheila Dozier and David of Trenton and Sylvia Zelenka and her husband Ed of Trenton; twenty grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; and twelve great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Gadsden Community Church with Kyle Holyfield officiating. Burial will follow in Gadsden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour on Monday at the church.
