Mary E. Samples
Mary Lomax Samples was born October 13, 1946 to Roy L. Lomax and Merle Harrison Lomax, who predeceased her. Two sisters also predeceased her, Carol Lomax and Aileen Neal. She is survived by her husband, James Samples, two other sisters, Rebecca Lomax Moore and Judith Lomax Lenz, and two daughters, Teresa Harris Tyra and Lena Rogers Baker and beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth.
Mary recently died on February 24, 2016, but her life was a triumph over death. She lived her life exuberantly as an example of joy-filled for all she knew. When others were down, she gave them the support and love that helped them through the toughest times. Even when she was fighting her own illness, she took the time to give others encouragement and support. She began and ended every day with a smile and a positive word for all.
Mary enjoyed working and being productive and her family is particularly thankful to those at West Tennessee Healthcare, her last place of employment, who gave her so much support and love.
She lived her life, both professionally and personally, with a strong sense of what was moral but without judgment of anyone. She was at once a strong, selfless woman and a kind, nurturing wife, mother, sister and friend.
She fought the good fight and leaves a gift of love to all who knew her.
