Natalie Cockroft Ragon was born October 1, 1928 and passed away November 15, 2020. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Jessie Childress Cockroft and James Cicero Cockroft.
Natalie was preceded in death by her husband, James Hugh Ragon and her brothers, Bill Cockroft, and Bob Cockroft.
She was very proud of her children, Bob Ragon (Amy Jacobs), Joe Ragon (Renee’ Jenkins), Betty LeNoir, Jim Ragon (Mimi Jones) and Bill Ragon (Jayne Gaines). She and James leave a legacy of 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Natalie attended Blue Mountain College, and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. In 1967, Natalie and James Hugh moved their family to Bolivar, Tennessee. Many Whiteville High School students will remember her as the Home Economics teacher. Natalie was instrumental in the success of Bolivar General Hospital, serving as the first Dietary Supervisor, and later in a consultant role. She retired in 1991 as Food Service Administrator, Western Mental Health Institute.
After retirement, Natalie and James moved to Jackson, Tennessee where they continued to enjoy making new friends and investing their hearts and love into family.
Natalie passed away in Jackson, Tennessee surrounded by her family. She will be remembered for her kind heart and strong desire to help others.
