Norman “Gayle” Mays, age 64, of Gibson, TN is in the care of Gibson Funeral Home where a Funeral Service will be held 10am Thursday, June 22nd, 2017 with a burial following at Gibson Memory Gardens in Humboldt, TN. Visitation will be held Wednesday 5-7pm and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Gayle was born in Trenton, TN on October 22, 1952 and departed this life, surrounded by loved ones in his home on June 19, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Mays; and brother, Glenn Mays.
Mr. Mays was a man of many nicknames, including: “Monk”, Tin Man”, and “Ironman”. His family described him as a caring man, who was always willing to help people out. He loved working with his hands. His wife said he was very proud to have been a football player for Peabody High School.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel Marie Mays; daughter, Patricia West; mother, Estelle Mays; step-daughter, Clarissa Zaricor; step-son, Bobby Wayne Craig; brother, Jack Mays; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
