Trenton, TN - Mr. Otis E. Ballard, age 75, formerly of Newbern, TN, died November 12, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Ballard was born in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Willis Otis Ballard and Mary Elizabeth Godwin Ballard. Otis served in the U. S. Air Force for four years. In 1961 he married Pauline K. Williams and they made their home in Elgin, IL where Mr. Ballard became a police officer. Otis and Pauline had four children; Therese K. Shelby and husband Don, John E. Ballard and wife Jamie, Tammy L. Henson and husband Jack, David R. Ballard and wife Rhonda. Mr. Ballard also is survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In 1974 the Ballard family moved to Tennessee where Otis served as a police officer for 19 years in Jackson, TN. Mr. Ballard also worked for Quebecor World Printing in Dyersburg, TN.
Mr. Ballard loved for his family to always get together and enjoyed being around his grandchildren. He always stayed busy working on something and loved going fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline, his four children; brother Marvin Ballard of Mississippi; several nieces and nephews from Tennessee and Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, James, Carlton, John and Richard; three sisters, Emma Jean, Vera Mae and Virginia.
