Paul "Stan" Stanley Chumney, Jr.

Stan Chumney, age 63, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born on July 27, 1960, in Madison County to the late Paul Stanley Chumney, Sr. and Georgia Jordan Chumney.

Stan strived to be the hands and feet of Jesus and was an active member of Englewood Baptist Church. He was the machine shop supervisor at Porter Cable for twenty two years. Stan loved to fish, hunt and go camping. He enjoyed going to the TN river and spending time with his grandson, Jordan, who was the joy of his life. He was a huge fan of the TN Vols and Atlanta Braves.

In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his brother, Jomar Chumney. 

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Langford Chumney of Gibson; son Robert Chumney and wife Raelyn of Jackson; daughter, Heather Tidwell and husband Landon of Alexander City, Alabama; brother, Sonny Chumney and wife Tina of Humboldt; and one grandson, Jordan Chumney.

Other survivors include his uncle, Jack Chumney and wife Betty Lou of Shelbyville; nieces and nephews, Ashlee, Amber, Kristin, River, Beth, Bill and Lisa; and several great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home with Bro. Jon Kenney officiating and burial to follow at White Rose Cemetery in Gibson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, June 24, 2024, in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home  and again on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Linda Langford Scarbrough Memorial Nursing Scholarship at Union University or Englewood Baptist Church in Stan’s honor.
