Peggy Jean Coffman

Lexington, Tennessee

Peggy Jean Cagle Coffman, age 69, passed away May 1, 2019. She was born on July 16, 1948 in Lexington, Tennessee to Lester and Annie Mae Cagle. She married her one and only, Jerry Coffman, on December 11, 1970 and they celebrated over forty-eight years of marriage together.

Peggy loved to be around her friends and most of all her family. She was frequently called a social butterfly by her daughter and she loved to travel - especially to go see her granddaughter Kaylee. She also loved music and would play the piano in church and sing. If you ever had a chance to hear her, you understand what a blessing her music could be.

Peggy worked for a short time at the Milan Arsenal but for the rest of her career, she worked with her husband helping to manage their pest control business, Coffman Home Service. She was the bookkeeper, the banker, the errand runner, and as Jerry says, “his boss” for many years. She was also a homemaker and mother.

Peggy is survived by her husband,  Jerry and their daughter and son-in-law, April and James Boyd. She has one granddaughter, Kaylee Grace Boyd, who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Carl White, and her sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and John Edwards and their daughter Anna.

Please join us, in a celebration of her life at a graveside memorial service, on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 2:00pm at Independence Cemetery, 2530 Independence Loop, Lexington, Tennessee. Flowers can be sent to Medina Funeral Home 302 W. Church Ave. Medina,Tennessee.
