Mr. Robert Earl Gaines, II age 65 of Bells, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born January 20, 1954 in Brownsville to his parents, Robert Earl Gaines and Janice Edwards Gaines.

He was owner of Gaines Sales. Mr. Gaines loved the Lord and was a member of Bells First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher as well as served on many boards and committees over the years.

Survivors include his loving wife Charlotte Whitman Gaines of Bells; son, Tre Gaines and wife Leigh Ann of Bells; daughter, Ashley Gaines of Bells; parents, Robert Earl and Janice Edward Gaines of Bells; two sisters and two brothers, Jayne Ragon and husband Bill and Lisa Hall and husband Bill all of Jackson, Pat Gaines of Bells and Paul Gaines and wife Linda of Bells. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Lela Gaines, Landry Gaines, Braxton Grice and Emma Grice.

Serving as pallbearers are, Rob Ragon, Stan Ragon, Tucker Whitman, Jake Whitman, Steve Owens and Cayce Gaines.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Gaines will be conducted Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Bells First Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Davis and Bro. Wayne Foropoulos officiating. Burial will follow in the Cypress United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Gaines family will receive friends on Saturday at Bells First Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Bells First Baptist Church, NOAH or the Crockett Mission in memory of Mr. Gaines.
