Ruth Crider Bethany

Ruth Bethany, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at NHC in Milan, Tennessee.

She was born on February 14, 1928 in Humboldt to the late Walter C. Crider and Exie H. Crider.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Crider and two sisters, Eula Pearcy and Sue Oliver.

She is survived by her two sons, Larry Butler and wife Sheila of Fariview and Russ Butler of Newbern; two daughters, Brenda McMillion and husband Jimmy of Humboldt and Geraldine Overton of Trenton; eight grandchildren, Amy Butler McClendon and husband John, Daniel Butler and wife Jamie, Angela York and husband Flynn, Lee McMillion, Bret McMillion and wife Jamie, Alana Vandiver and husband Brent, Nacona Lawrence and husband Josh and Desi Butler and husband TJ.

Other survivors include nineteen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Gibson County Memory Gardens.
