Sharon Dianne (Burt) Weaver passed on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Humboldt Nursing Home from complications of Alzheimer’s.  She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on January 9, 1945 to Dwight and Eleanor (Huff) Burt and spent the majority of her life in Lancaster and Sugar Grove, Ohio before retiring to Tennessee.

Sharon was a graduate of Lancaster High School and attended Ohio University.  Her career included Berne Union Schools, Executive Director of Camp Fire Girls, Grant Medical Center and Camp Akita.

Sharon served the Camp Fire Council as a leader and eventually as Executive Director.  She often remarked on her love for the girls and the fun times from Camp WoHeLo, caroling at Christmas and the numerous community service projects.

Sharon was a highly respected floral designer and if you needed flowers no matter the occasion, she was the designer of choice. Many an early morning you could find her borrowing flowers from her Blue Valley neighbors to win a Best of Show at the Fairfield County Fair, put the final touches on a wedding bouquet or a corsage for prom.  She performed many demonstrations and was a judge in floral design.  Sharon had the pleasure of designing for the late President Ronald Reagan, Tommy Tune and Les Wexner to name a few.

Remarkably she managed the kitchen at Camp Akita prior to retiring.  Coming from a place where a good balanced meal was driving through three different fast food chains, she thrived working with her crew and the welcoming the many visitors to the camp.

Sharon was known as a lover of life and people, and many would remark how she never met a stranger.  It was well known by family and friends she would need to visit nearly every table in the restaurant before arriving at her seat.

She provided many opportunities for her children and never let finances get in the way of having a good time.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dwight and Eleanor Burt and special aunt Chlorast Hale.

She is survived by her daughter Lori Weaver (Chad) Nunnery of Jackson, TN; son, James Weaver of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Jillian and Jenna Nunnery; Austin and Lilith Weaver; her sister, Wyonne (Robert) Morningstar of Fairfield Glade (formerly of Lancaster, Ohio); brother David (Phyllis) Burt of Lancaster, Ohio; many cherished nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Cremation will be handled by Medina Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12 from 4:00 pm – 7:00pm with a memorial service at 7:00 pm, at Halteman-Fett Funeral Home,  436 N Broad St, Lancaster, Ohio.  A graveside service will be held Friday, July 13 at 10:00 am at Londonderry Cemetery, Londonderry, Ohio.

Many thanks to all of the angels who crossed Sharon’s path in life.  A special Thank You to Dr. Keith Kirby and the kind folks at Humboldt Nursing Home (staff and family members), each of you were an incredible blessing.
