Humboldt, TN-  Sherry Lou Dunham Johnson was born on September 30, 1947, in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Kenneth and Irene Dunham. She departed this life to enter her heavenly home on May 7, 2015, at her home near Humboldt. She was surrounded by her family and friends and was greatly loved by many.
She was educated in the Kenosha, Wisconsin  school system graduating from Kenosha High School in 1965. She worked for several years as a meter maid in the Kenosha area. On October 19, 1973 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, James D. Johnson. To this marriage two children were born, Jennifer Lynn and Jamie Ann.
In 1984 the Johnson family moved to Humboldt. She and her husband, Jim, established J & S Welding Shop in Humboldt. For 29 years they faithfully served their friends and customers in this area. She retired from the business two years ago.
Sherry was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Ann Johnson; her parents, Kenneth and Irene Dunham; her twin brother, Terry Dunham and one sister, Barbara Dunham Lahti.
She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, James D. (Jim) Johnson; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Johnson Crutchfield and husband Tom; two granddaughters, Jamie Taylor Wood and Sophie Ann Lepinski; one grandson, Logan Kendal-Johnson Wood, all of Humboldt; three sisters, Joanne Daniels, Jackie (Bruno) Fani; Lori (Jim) Camerota, all of Kenosha, Wisconsin; three brothers, Keith (Marilyn) Dunham of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Paul (Cindy) Dunham of Shelbyville, Indiana, Chuck (Sue) Dunham of Humboldt, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brian Petty officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery near Medina.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at Medina Funeral Home.
Pallbearers for the service are: Brandon Moore, Pat Moore, Steve Thomas, Jimmy Fly, Beau Eddings, Jason Stevens. Honorary pallbearers to serve are Ray Hopkins and Terry Hopkins.
Sherry and Jim had a happy home where friends and family were always welcome.
She was a joy to be around and brought happiness to those in her presence.
Her daughter, Jennifer, had given her a framed print which hung on the living room wall. The message on the print offered her hope and encouraged her during her illness. The message on the print reads: The Will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
Sherry’s favorite old saying was: and this to shall pass.
