Shirley Jean Payne

Shirley Jean Payne, age 83, was born on September 10, 1940, in Memphis, Tennessee and entered Heaven's gate on September 5, 2024.

She attended the Tennessee School for the Deaf. Shirley was co-owner of Payne's Upholstery in Cozad, Nebraska. She was a member of Lutheran Church for the Deaf in Nebraska and was also a member of Jackson's Association for the Deaf.

Shirley leaves behind her two children, Mary Rhinehart and husband Albert of Three Way, Tennessee and Jerry Payne of Humboldt, Tennessee; step daughters, Judith Payne of Omaha Nebraska and Rose Barnes of Medina, Tennessee; step son-in-law, Raymond Gunn.

She was a Grandma to eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Shirley was step Grandma to seven step grandchildren, fifteen step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Florence Bradford; husband, Lewis Payne; and step daughter, Kathy Gunn.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home.
