Mrs. Shirley Jean Simpson Whitmore age 73 of McKenzie, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at her residence.

She was born September 10, 1945 in Henry County to the late John Walter Simpson, Sr. and Susie Belle Byrd Simpson. Mrs. Whitmore retired from S & S Garment Factory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Tillman.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Whitmore of McKenzie; three daughters, Melissa Lovell (Frankie) of Milan, Ellen Bates of McKenzie and Debora Massey (Keith) of Trezevant. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, Dana Lenox, Wanda Camper, Jeremy Tillman, Jessica Dotson, Tony Dotson, Tyler Lovell, Hannah Massey and Jonathan Massey as well as nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Whitmore will be conducted Friday, August 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Holly Leaf House of Prayer with Rev. Donnie White and Bro. Charles Tegethoff officiating. Burial will follow in the Republican Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
