Stacey C. Wolfe, 57, died at Jackson Madison County General Hospital
August 17, 2023.
Stacey was born September 18, 1965 in Brownsville, TN. Stacey is the son of Virginia Wolfe.
Stacey graduated from Brownsville High School and then went on to Jackson State
Community College for his Associate’s Degree; then Union University for his Bachelor’s Degree; and UT Knoxville for his MSSW degree. He became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 1995. He met his wife, Sharon, that same year and married her 2 years later. They celebrated their 28th anniversary on May 6, 2023.
Stacey loved riding his motorcycle and going on rides with his friends and wife through the Smoky Mountains. He enjoyed cruising on the Royal Caribbean ships, visiting Disney World, and any other destination as long as his grandchildren and great grandchildren were present.
Stacey was a Chief Instructor of Southeastern Kenpo Jujitsu Association at the Antioch Dojo. He joined the Association in 1985, as a white belt, and worked his way up to Chief Instructor.
Stacey is survived by his brother, Charles Leon Wolfe; Lorraine Wolfe; and his niece,
Mattea Wolfe. Stacey Wolfe was preceded in death by his father Merlin Wolfe, paternal Uncle C H Wolfe, paternal Uncle Norman Wolfe, paternal Aunt Lila Jean Seal. Both sets of Grandparents, (paternal) Charles Wolfe and Ada Lee Wilder Wolfe Johnson, (maternal) Harrell Morrison and Irene Edmonds Morrison and his maternal (favorite)Uncle, Bennie Morrison.
When Stacey married Sharon he became the father of three grown children, Keith
McKinny; Shelly Akins; and Kevin McKinny. He became the father in law of Alicia
McKinny; Kirk Akins; and Jeanne McKinny.
Then he became the grandfather of the joys of his life: his grandchildren and then his great grandchildren. His grandchildren are Brooke Pearson; Chad Akins; Sarah
Davidson; Rachel Redner; Caysi Kirby; CJ Kirby; and Scott McKinny. As grandchildren grew up he became the grand father in law; Kyle Pearson, Oukie Akins; McCoy Davidson, Tyler Redner, Justin Logsdon; and Abby Kirby.
Now he is the great grandfather (Pap) to eight great grandchildren—Owen Pearson, Eli Pearson, Rowen Kirby, Montgomery Kirby, Bryson Kirby, Ayra Kirby, Leo Redner, and Lycia Logsdon. Stacey enjoyed being a Pap to these children and has left a huge void in the life of each of them as well as the grandchildren and step children, in-laws, and his niece. Stacey is also the daddy to two beautiful loving cats, Brutie and Tuck, who have also felt the affects of Stacey being gone from our home.
As a licensed clinical social worker and therapist, Stacey had a profound impact on not only his clients but also those he supervised and mentored. He was a skilled clinician who established a safe therapeutic environment with his gentle and calming demeanor.
He was also a gifted mentor, supervisor, and colleague. Stacey had a patient and
reflective way of helping his supervisees see alternative sides of the situation and think more broadly and deeply about cases. He inspired people and brought out their best qualities. He truly embodied the ideas of unconditional positive regard and a love for his calling.
A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the Antioch Dojo. Family
and friends are welcome to attend.
