Mr. William Donald "Billy" Maroney
William Donald (Billy) Maroney died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a long illness.
Billy was born January 21, 1935 in Madison County to the late Roy and Irene Brown Maroney. He graduated from J B Young High School in 1953. Billy was a member of Madison Baptist Church. He married Nina Ann Thomas of Henderson, TN, whom he leaves behind.
He worked for Sadie Lou Grocery; Piggly Wiggly factory in charge of shipping and handling; Proctor & Gamble Chemical Co. and Mallinckrodt Chemicals where he was coordinator.
Billy enjoyed camping, fishing, was an avid golfer and took pride in his yard work. He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Maroney Ricketts and her husband Tony Ricketts, Billy’s golfing buddy; one brother, George Maroney and wife Marie of Jackson; one nephew Tim Maroney and family of Nashville; many nieces and nephews of Nina’s who accepted and loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
It was the wishes of Billy to be cremated without a public service or memorial. The family would like to thank his special caregivers. Memorials can be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
