Mr. William Rhodes, age 79, died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at his home in Humboldt, TN
Visitation will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 from 5 until 7 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Art Tate officiating

He was born in Three-Way, TN to the late William Henry and Eva Forsythe Rhodes and graduated from Northside High School in 1953. Mr. Rhodes retired from Bellsouth as a supervisor after 32 years of service; was a member of the TN National Guard. Mr. Rhodes was Baptist in belief. He was also an avid fisherman and avid collector of Native American Relics. Billy loved music and he wrote or co-wrote over 100 songs. Some of the artist that recorded his songs are: Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Faron Young, Carl Perkins, Billy Walker

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janelle Evans; step-mother, Arline Rhodes, sister, Elizabeth McLeary.
Billy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Rhodes; son, William Bradley Walters both of Humboldt; grandson, Josh Cain Coley of Milan; granddaughter, Jessica Leigh Hill of Camden; grandson, Bradley Alexander Walters of Huntingdon; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings, Robin Rhodes, Sue Jackson, Kay Hamm, Pat Rhodes.
